New Electroacoustic Work: 'Frictions_Storms'

This is a stereo reduction of my latest 8-channel acousmatic work. Frictions_Storms was created with sound sources which share relationships in causality and gestural motions. Sources include the push-pull action of sawing wood, the back and forth action of bowing a violin, and the drag of ceramic tiles and slates on one another, producing complex tones, then heavily processed to create textural passages which recall shifting weather patterns, heavy winds, (electronic) storms and thunder. The instantly identifiable sound of the violin provides a degree of grounding, in a piece employing heavy use of remote sound transformations.
